The "Théâtre du Châtelet" is one of the two theaters located in the Place du Châtelet, in Paris. It is located along the Droite bank of the Seine in the 1st arrondissement of Paris and was inaugurated in 1862. Today it is represented, essentially operas and concerts of classical and symphonic music. The award ceremony of the César del Cinema takes place every year. The theater is home to the Orchester de Paris and the Orchester Philharmonique de Radio France; the two formations, since September 2006 have moved to the Salle Pleyel. The Philarmonia Orchestra of London has played regular seasons since 1993.
